Located in the Valpolicella region of the Veneto, the Vaona family is committed to organic wines from the indigenous grapes Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. Although their family history of grape growing stretches back hundreds of years, the current history began in 2000 when the family shifted from bulk Veneto wines to high quality, terroir-driven reds made in the family’s 17th century cellar. Amarone with grand personality, made from Classic Veronese Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. Excellent with richly flavored dishes and with red meats and game in particular. Also a fine companion for ripe cheeses. Uncork at least an hour before drinking! Full-bodied with concentrated notes of dark cherries, spice, and fig flavors. Even with all these tastes mingling together, the wine is very well-balanced. Drinking very well right now, the Paverno should continue to evolve for another five plus years.
